What We Do
The AIWC Community Services Committee provides service to club members and service to our community through fund raising for charity. Service to club members is provided by the Mon Amie mentoring scheme to help new members settle into Switzerland and into the AIWC. Our charity work involves encouraging and initiating fundraising events to support the AIWC chosen charities. Charities are nominated by club members and selected each year by the executive board.

Our Charities
During the club year 2011-2012, the following charities will benefit from our fundraising activities:
Middle East Children's Institute
An organization helping women and children who are victims of war and poverty in the Middle East. The charity was founded by one of our members, Lola Grace, and we have been asked to support a specific project to launch a Girl’s Club program. We hope to have a special event when Lola will be able to present the project and talk to us about the charity. For more information please follow the link provided. Link to www.mecinstitute.org.
SOS Future Mamans
This is a Swiss based charity supporting expectant mothers and mothers of young children facing financial or social difficulties. The charity provides material support in the form of clothes and equipment and financial support to help with particular difficulties. We plan to collect second hand baby clothes and equipment to donate to the organization as well as part of the funds raised from our events. For more information please follow the link provided. Terre Des Hommes - La Maison de Massongex
We shall continue to support La Maisaon with our school pack collection in November with special focus on the Thanskgiving Lunch. There will be a visit to La Maison at the beginning of November to see the facilities and to have a presentation of their work, the visit is open to all members.

Swiss Friends of Cecily's Fund
This is our third year of support for this fund, which contribures to the education of AIDS orphans in Zambia.

2010-2011 Club Year
